SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on May 31, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Four (4) apparent bids were received,
with the low bid submitted by Paco Construction of Runnells, IA, in the
total amount of $162,652.40.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $162,652.40
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Paco
Construction of Runnells, IA, in the total amount of $162,652.40.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to Paco Construction of
Runnells, IA, in the total amount of $162,652.40.

RESOLUTION 17-
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE 2017 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the 2017 Asphalt Overlay Project, described in the plans and
specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on June 5, 2017, be and is hereby accepted, the
same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as follows:

Amount of bid:
$162,652.40
Portion of project:
All construction work
Section 2. That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
