AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a quote for sanitary sewer repairs on 4`4 St and
Northview in the amount of $24,200 to Torgerson Excavating.
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: These are open cut spot repairs that we are unable to fix
with the Original Sanitary Sewer Collection System Rehabilitation —Phase 3
Project. These repairs fall within the asphalt overlay area; therefore, staff
wants to make sure repairs are completed prior to overlay project being done.
Togerson has committed to have items completed be end of June. Veenstra
and Kimm, Inc. reviewed the pricing and find it to be reasonable and fair.

That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the Original
Sanitary Sewer Collection System Rehabilitation Phase 3, 4"' Street and Northview Drive
Sanitary Sewer Repairs, and described in the Request for Quotes that was provided to vendors be
and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote received for such work, as
follows:

TORGERSON EXCAVATING QUOTE
We have reviewed the quote for the Original Sanitary Sewer Collection System
Rehabilitation — Phase 3 submitted by Torgerson Excavating in the amount of $24,200.
The quote is for open cut repairs to be completed prior to the cured -in -place pipe
rehabilitation. The pricing and terms set forth in the quote are reasonable and fair. We
recommend approval of the quote by the City Council of the City of Waukee.

Perform 1 spot repair on sanitary sewer service line on
Northview Drive and 1-12" sanitary sewer main repair on Northview Drive.
Price includes all labor and material necessary to complete job.
Contractor responsible for traffic control and fill required under the streets.
City of Waukee responsible for saw cutting and restore of street patches.
If additional work on services is needed,
City of Waukee will be notified to discuss additional charges.
Work to be completed by June 30th, 2017.
