AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending a certain address within
the City of Waukee from 2705 Grand Prairie Parkway to 2727 Grand Prairie
Parkway
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: As a part of the final plat for Ashworth North Plat 1, the
address assigned to Lot 1 was given as 2705 Grand Prairie Parkway. Knapp
Properties is currently in the process of constructing an office building on the
property. Staff has received a request from Holmes Murphy, who will be the
occupant of the office building when completed, requesting the address be
changed to 2727 Grand Prairie Parkway.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The requested change in address still fits within the confines
of the address grid for Kettlestone and staff does not have any major concerns
with the requested change. Upon approval of the City Council, the address
change would be recorded with the County and all records including E911
databases would be updated with the new address.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

APPROVAL OF AMENDING A CERTAIN ADDRESS WITHIN THE CITY OF
WAUKEE FROM 2705 GRAND PRAIRIE PARKWAY TO 2727 GRAND
PRAIRIE PARKWAY
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the owner of the property located at 2705 Grand Prairie Parkway and
legally described as Lot 1 of Ashworth North Plat 1 is currently constructing an office
building; AND,
WHEREAS, for advertising purposes for the tenant of the building, the applicant has
requested the address of the property be officially changed from 2705 Grand Prairie
Parkway to 2727 Grand Prairie Parkway; AND,
WHEREAS, the proposed change is acceptable to the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 19th day of June 2017, that the local address of 2705 Grand Prairie
Parkway be amended to 2727 Grand Prairie Parkway. A copy of this resolution shall be
filed of record with the Recorders Office of Dallas County, Iowa.
