AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution allowing for Temporary
Parking Area [Stivers Ford Lincoln]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request from Scott Politte, owner
of Stivers Ford Lincoln for use of the vacant property they own west of
the dealership as temporary parking. The request is similar to the request
made last year.
The City Code requires all parking of vehicles to occur on a hard
surfaced lot. The subject property is vacant and is designated for future
development.
Mr. Politte has indicated that he is going to proceed with a plan add
permanent paved parking on this property in the near future.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSIONBOARD/CONIlVIITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff is not aware of any issues or complaints with the
current temporary parking on the property and would recommend
approval of the request for a period of 90 days.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution

APPROVING TEMPORARY PARKING REQUEST ON LOTS 4 AND 5 OF WILLIAMS
POINTE PLAT 14 [STIVERS FORD LINCOLN]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, ZOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Stivers Ford Lincoln has recently been shipped a large inventory of new vehicles that has
exhausted their display and storage areas at their dealership located at 1450 E Hickman Road; AND,
WHEREAS, the owners of Stivers Ford Lincoln request permission to temporarily store vehicles on
an undeveloped property located at 1350 SE Stone Ridge Drive and 150 SE Waco Place [Lot 4 and 5
of Williams Pointe Plat 14] for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 27th
day of June, 2017, that it hereby approves temporary parking on the property located at 1350 SE Stone
Ridge Drive and 150 SE Waco Place for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days.

Brad, we would like to resume temporary parking on our lots to the west, 1350 SE Stone Ridge DR and 150 SE Waco,
until such time as we can present a site plan paving those two lots for parking associated with our dealership at 1450 E
Hickman Road.
