AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of proposal from Webster Electric, Inc. [Alice's Rd
Widening Improvements Phase 4]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda.
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Webster Electric will be relocating a transformer at 1100
Alice's Rd (Gilerest Jewett) to allow for construction as part of the Alice's Rd
Widening Improvements Phase 4 project. The City's responsibility is for the
installation of 1 4" primary duct for MidAmerican Energy to relocate the
transformer from the existing location to the proposed location.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COSTBENEFIT ANALYSIS: $7,500.00

RESOLUTION 17-
APPROVING WEBSTER ELECTRIC, INC., PROPOSAL
[ALICE'S ROAD CORRIDOR PHASE 4 PROJECT, DUCT INSTALLATION]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City is currently construction public improvements as part of the Alice's Road
Corridor Phase 4 Project; AND,
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2017, the Waukee City Council approved a proposal from
MidAmerican Energy Company to relocate a transformer at 1100 SE Alice's Road (Resolution
#17-XXX); AND,
WHEREAS, as part of the transformer relocation, the City of Waukee shall be responsible for
the installation of a primary duct from the existing transformer location to the proposed location;
AND,
WHEREAS, Webster Electric, Inc., has provided a proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for
the duct installation; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff recommends approval of the agreement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
10"' day of July, 2017, that it hereby approves the Webster Electric, Inc., proposal [Alice's Road
Corridor Phase 4 Project, Duct Installation].

Install 500' of 1 - 4" empty underground conduit for Mid American Energy.
Install 3 phase transformer pad with oil containment.
Maintenance Building:
Install 300' - new underground secondary conduit and conductors from the existing
meter setting to the new transformer.
Provide a 1 day generator rental with connections.
e- Windows & Doors Building.
Install 250' - new underground secondary conduit and conductors from the existing
meter setting to the new transformer.
Provide a 1 day generator rental with connections.
s Miscellaneous:
All labor included.
All materials included.
All boring / backhoe / trenching.
Concrete cutting / removal / replacement at 2 locations.
Old concrete transformer pad removal.
