AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting September 5, 2017 as the date
of public hearing on the vacation of a public water main easement [Lots 1 – 5
of Waukee Vista Commercial Park]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City Council has recently approved plans and
construction has commenced on a retail development project at 100 W
Hickman Road just east of the Sherwin Williams store. As a part of the
previously approved final plat for the property, the City required a public
water main for a future water main within the site. The location of the
easement is through the middle of the building under construction.
The developer has provided new easements based upon the location the water
main is actually being constructed and has requested that the City vacate the
existing water main easement.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of setting the public
hearing date for September 5, 2017 to discuss the vacation of the public water
main easement.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
