AGENDA ITEM: A public hearing on the vacation of a public water main easement [Lots 1 – 5
of Waukee Vista Commercial Park]
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City Council has recently approved plans and
construction has commenced on a retail development project at 100 W
Hickman Road just east of the Sherwin Williams store. As a part of the
previously approved final plat for the property, the City required a public
water main easement for a future water main within the site. The location of
the easement is through the middle of the building under construction.
The developer has provided new easements based upon the location the water
main is actually being constructed and has requested that the City vacate the
existing water main easement.
In order to dispose of the easement, the City Council needs to hold a public
hearing on the vacation.
