STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has reviewed public improvements
for the Southfork Dam Outlet Improvement Project and find it in general
conformance with the standard specification for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE SOUTHFORK DAM OUTLET
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, on the I" day of May, 2017, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with J&K Contracting of Ames, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Southfork Dam Outlet
Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having
been filly completed in accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 2id day of October, 2017.

Improvements project. The certificate should be executed after the City Council has

We hereby certify that we have made an on -site review of the completed
construction of the Southfork Dam Outlet Improvements Project as performed by
J&K Contracting, LLC.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion the work performed is in
substantial accordance with the plans and specifications, and that the final
amount of the Contract is Sixty-six Thousand One Hundred Forty-eight and 85/100
Dollars ($66,148.85).
