CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: October 16, 2017
AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing on the annexation of consenting property by the City of
Waukee, Iowa, with consideration of the annexation taking place
immediately thereafter (Collins Property).
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Rodney Collins has submitted a voluntary
annexation petition of approximately 40 acres of property that is located east of R-16 and
approximately ½ mile south of Highway 6 (Hickman Road). The property is contiguous to property
that was recently annexed as a part of the larger Waukee West annexation completed earlier this
year.
The proposed annexation is considered within an urbanized area as it is within two miles
of the City of Adel.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend holding the public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: Hold the public hearing
