STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has reviewed public improvements
for Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Expansion Project and find it in
general conformance with the standard specification for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LITTLE WALNUT CREEK REGIONAL
LIFT STATION EXPANSION
WHEREAS, on the 2 1 " day of February, 2017, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of
Waukee, Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Synergy Contracting, LLC, of
Bondurant, IA, for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the
Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Expansion; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on November 1,
2017:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and
adopted, and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully
completed in accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final
construction cost thereof is hereby determined to be $1,928,693.02, as shown in the report of the
Engineer.

Regional Lift Station Expansion project. The certificate should be executed after the City
Council has approved acceptance of the project. Please sign both certificates and return

WAUKEE, IOWA
We hereby certify that we have made an on -site review of the completed
construction of the Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Expansion as performed
by Synergy Contracting LLC.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion the work performed is in
substantial accordance with the plans and specifications, and that the final
amount of the Contract is One Million Nine Hundred Twenty -Eight Thousand Six
Hundred Ninety -Three and 02/100 Dollars ($1,928,693.02).
