AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of approval of a Motion to set a Public
Hearing Date of December 4, 2017, as the date of public hearing on an
ordinance to amend Chapter 301, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee,
Iowa, by rezoning certain property from C-1A to M-1A (Gilcrest Jewett)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 0.48 acres from C-1A Neighborhood Commercial District
to M-1A Limited Industrial District to facilitate the expansion of an
outdoor storage area for Gilcrest Jewett Lumber Company. The subject
property is located west of SE Alice’s Road and north of SE University
Avenue.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend a public hearing date be set for
December 4, 2017 to further discuss the proposed changes.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
