AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving severance agreement
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees approved a
new organizational chart eliminating the positions of Assistant Library
Director and Technical Services Coordinator on January 19, 2016. The Board
of Trustees also approved severance packages to employees affected by the
organizational chart revisions per the City’s severance practice. Employment
for Devon Murphy-Petersen and Eric Mozga will end on January 31, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees and the City
of Waukee Human Resource Director recommend the approval of severance
benefits for each of the above named employees.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING SEVERANCE AGREEMENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on January 19, 2016, the Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees approved a
revised organizational chart for the Waukee Public Library, which eliminates the position of
Assistant Library Director; AND
WHEREAS, the position elimination shall be effective January 31, 2016;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
26th day of January, 2016, that it hereby approves severance benefits for Devon Murphy-
Petersen.
