HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-02-02-J04 Waukee Transportation Faclity P1_Final Plat AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: February 2, 2016 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving a final plat for Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 FORMAT: Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Community School District on behalf of the City of Waukee is requesting approval of a final plat for approximately 13.95 acres of property located at the northwest corner of the intersection of 6th Street and University Avenue. The plat consists of one lot intended for the development of a bus facility, warehouse facility, and fueling facility for the School District operations. The School District is in the process of acquiring the subject property from the City of Waukee. The final plat includes several easements for utilities as well as ingress/egress. Ingress/egress has been provided for reciprocal ingress/egress throughout the plat as well as the adjacent property to the west. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this request on January 26, 2016 and recommended approval subject to remaining staff comments and review of the legal documents by the City Attorney. Approval of a Final Plat for Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 No new discussion took place. Motion by Commissioner Streit, seconded by Commissioner Nigro to approve the final plat for Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 subject to any remaining staff comments and review of all legal documents by the City Attorney. Ayes: Nigro, Streit, Hoifeldt, and Shanks. Nays: None. Motion carried. STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: At this time a majority of staff comments have been addressed related to the final plat. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the final plat subject to remaining staff comments and review of the legal documents by the City Attorney. ATTACHMENTS: I. Proposed Resolution II. Final Plat PREPARED BY: Andy Kass, Senior Planner REVIEWED BY: THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 16- APPROVING THE FINAL PLAT FOR WAUKEE TRANSPORTATION FACILITY PLAT 1 IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, Waukee Community School District with property owner, City of Waukee, have requested final approval of Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 (the “Plat”); AND WHEREAS, the City of Waukee Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the Plat on January 26, 2016, subject to remaining staff comments and review of the legal documents; AND, WHEREAS, the Final Plat for Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 and the documents relating thereto will comply with Section §303 - Land Subdivision Ordinance of the Waukee Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa on this 2nd day of February, 2016, that the Final Plat for Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1 be and the same is hereby accepted and approved by the City Council of the City of Waukee subject to remaining staff comments and review of the platting documents by the City Attorney. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file the final plat of Waukee Transportation Facility Plat 1, as well as any other documents related thereto, with the Dallas County Recorder. ____________________________ William F.
