HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-02-02-J05 Waukee Transportation Center_Site Plan AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: February 2, 2016 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving a site plan for Waukee Transportation Center [1000 6th Street & 605 University Avenue] FORMAT: Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Community School District is requesting approval of a site plan for an 11,354 square foot bus facility and a 16,822 square feet warehouse and operations building to be located at the north east corner of 6th Street and University Avenue. In addition, to the proposed buildings a fueling facility and an outdoor bus parking area are proposed to be constructed. Access to the property will be provided via 6th Street of the east side of the site and via University Avenue on the south side of the site. Sidewalks are proposed to be located along 6th Street and around the proposed storm water ponds on the site. The applicant has provided elevations for proposed buildings on the site which meet the intent of the architectural guidelines within the Site Development and Building Standards Ordinance. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this request on January 26, 2016 and recommended approval subject to remaining staff comments. Approval of a Site Plan for Waukee Community School District Transportation and Operations Buildings [1000 6th Street & 605 University Avenue] No new discussion took place. Motion by Commissioner Hoifeldt, seconded by commissioner Nigro to approve the site plan for Waukee Community School District Transportation and Operations Buildings [1000 6th Street & 605 University Avenue] subject to any remaining staff comments. Ayes: Nigro, Streit, Hoifeldt, and Shanks. Nays: None. Motion carried. STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval subject to remaining staff comments.
