RESOLUTION 16-
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE A
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE COMMUNICATIONS
WORKERS OF AMERICA (CWA), LOCAL #7102, AFL-CIO
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City has negotiated a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the
Communications Workers of America (CWA), Local #7102, AFL-CIO, concerning continued
employment; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council has fully examined the changes between the current agreement
and the proposed agreement and has found same to be in the best interests of the City of Waukee
and the union-represented employees.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa
that the Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute a five-year collective bargaining
agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Local #7102, AFL-CIO,
consistent with the tentative agreements between the parties and, in the event the Union votes
down the agreement, the City Council authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to execute a
one-year agreement with no changes to the current agreement other than an across-the-board
wage increase consistent with other settlements and awards in comparable cities.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 7th day of March,
2016.
