AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote [Westown
Parkway/R-22 Intersection Improvements Tree Clearing Project]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: In conjunction with the Westown Parkway/R-22
Intersection Improvements Project, project engineers solicited quotes for
the removal of certain specific trees in the project area. The tree clearing
project must be complete by April 1 due to possible Indiana bat habitats.
The quote opening was held at Waukee City Hall on March 2, 2016, at
2:00 p.m. Three apparent quotes were received, with the low quote
submitted by J. Pettiecord of Des Moines, IA, in the amount of
$25,000.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $25,000.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding quote to J. Pettiecord
of Des Moines, IA, in the amount of $25,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to J. Pettiecord of Des
Moines, IA, in the amount of $25,000.00.

AWARDING QUOTE FOR WESTOWN PARKWAY/R-22 INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS TREE CLEARING PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the
Westown Parkway/R-22 Intersection Improvements Tree Clearing Project and described in the
Request for Quotes that was provided to the vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being
the lowest responsible quote received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: J. Pettiecord of Des Moines, IA
Amount of quote: $25,000.00
PASSED AND APPROVED, this 7th day of March, 2016.
