AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution changing address from 1155
SE University Avenue to 1135 SE Alice’s Road
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The owner of the property located at 1155 SE
University Avenue (northeast corner of SE University Avenue and SE
Alice’s Road) is requesting approval of an address change for the
property to 1135 SE Alice’s Road. The property is currently vacant
however, a site plan for a multi-tenant commercial building on the site is
under consideration for approval by the Council at the March 21st
meeting. The proposed building would face SE Alice’s Road.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The proposed address is consistent in sequence with
other properties along SE Alice’s Road
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING A CERTAIN ADDRESS WITHIN THE CITY OF
WAUKEE FROM 1155 SE UNIVERSITY AVENUE TO 1135 SE ALICE’S ROAD
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the owner of the undeveloped property located at 1155 SE University
Avenue is interested in developing a building which would face SE Alice’s Road and it is
in the best interest of the City to officially change the address to avoid future confusion
related to deliveries and emergency response; AND,
WHEREAS, staff recommends changing the address of the property located at 1155 SE
University Avenue to 1135 SE Alice’s Road.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 21st day of March, 2016, that the local address as referenced above be
amended. A copy of this resolution shall be filed of record with the Recorders Office of
Dallas County, Iowa.
