way traffic designation of Park Road on Friday, June 17, 2016, for the
BACooN Bike Ride

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Temporary one-way traffic enforcement is
recommended in an effort to improve traffic flow and increase safety for
the 06/17/2016 Bacoon Bike Ride.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC DESIGNATION OF
PARK ROAD ON FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2016, FOR THE BACOON BIKE RIDE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, Centennial Park in Waukee will act as the starting point for the BACooN Bike
Ride on Saturday, June 18, 2016; AND,
WHEREAS, Centennial Park shall also serve as a camping site for BACooN Bike Ride
participants the evening of Friday, June 17, 2016; AND,
WHEREAS, in an effort to improve traffic flow and increase safety for the event, the BACooN
Bike Ride/BACooN Sizzles Waukee Planning Committee requests the temporary designation of
Park Road from Ashworth Drive west to Warrior Lane as a one-way street, with the direction of
traffic moving westward, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
2nd day of May, 2016, that it hereby approves the temporary one-way traffic designation of Park
Road on Friday, June 17, 2016, for the BACooN Bike Ride.
