AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Agreement for
Professional Consulting Services with RDG Planning & Design
[Railroad Pergola Add’l Serv Trailhead Expansion Master Plan]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The contract is for RDG Planning & Design to
provide professional services to complete a Master Plan for the
expansion of the existing Waukee and Raccoon River Valley Trailhead
located north of Hickman Road adjacent to the ROW at the 10th Street
intersection. The primary focus will be the northwest corner of the
intersection. As the Trailhead Art project finalizes their fundraising
efforts, construction will hopefully begin soon. It is anticipated that this
monumental art structure will increase the number of users to this area,
thus requiring additional parking and amenities on the west side of 10th
street. The plan will also identify if there is a need for additional land.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $9,900.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The agreement has been prepared using our standard
form of contract. The City Attorney has reviewed the agreement and
finds it satisfactory.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the consent agenda.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES
WITH RDG PLANNING & DESIGN [RAILROAD PERGOLA ADD’L SERV
TRAILHEAD EXPANSION MASTER PLAN]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the services of RDG IA, Inc., d/b/a RDG Planning &
Design, for professional services to complete a Master Plan for the expansion of the existing
Waukee and Raccoon River Valley Trailhead located north of Hickman Road adjacent to the
right-of-way at the 10th Street intersection; AND,
WHEREAS, the engineering services agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, has been
reviewed and approved by the Waukee City Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with RDG Planning & Design [Railroad Pergola
Add’l Serv Trailhead Expansion Master Plan] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 16th day of May,
2016.
