received. Howry Construction was the low bid at $49,453.75. The engineers
estimate for the project was $48,070.90.

AWARDING QUOTE [WAUKEE SOUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL
TRAIL PROJECT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the Waukee
South Middle School Trail Project and described in the Request for Quotes that was provided to
vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote received for such
work, as follows:
Contractor: Howrey Construction of Rockwell City, IA
Amount of quote: $49,453.75
PASSED AND APPROVED, this 161h day of May, 2016.

RE: South Middle School Bike Trail
Bid Opening
Mr. Royer;
A bid opening was held on April 22, 2016 for the South Middle School Bike Trail
project. A total of two bids were received. A summary of the bids are attached for
reference. The two bids received were for $49,453.75 and $51,642.75.
Howrey Construction is the apparent low bidder. Therefore, it is our recommendation
that the city of Waukee accept Howrey Construction's base bid totaling $49,453.75
and execute a contract for the project work.
