AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of sale of 2010 Tymco Sweeper to City of Adel in
the amount of $100,000.00.

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: City of Adel has passed a resolution to purchase the City
of Waukee's existing Tymco Street Sweeper which is scheduled to be
replaced. In lieu of a trade in, the City will sell the Tymco Street Sweeper to
the City of Adel, getting more from the equipment than was offered with trade
in on the new purchase.

APPROVING THE SALE OF A 2010 TYMCO SWEEPER TO THE CITY OF ADEL, IA,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000.00
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee Public Work Department has negotiated with the City of Adel, IA, for
the sale of a 2010 Tymco Street Sweeper (the "Street Sweeper") which is scheduled for
replacement by the City of Waukee; AND,
WHEREAS, on June 14, 2016, the City Council of the City of Adel approved a resolution
approving the purchase of the Street Sweeper in the amount of $100,000.00 with the following
terms of sale:
• The sale of the Street Sweeper shall be "as is" with no warranty.
The City of Adel shall receive the Street Sweeper after the City of Waukee receives a
replacement vehicle.
• After delivery of the Street Sweeper by the City of Waukee to the City of Adel, the City
of Waukee shall invoice the City of Adel for the $100,000.00 purchase price.
• Prior to delivery to the City of Adel, the City of Waukee shall continue to use the Street
Sweeper as necessary and as determined by the City of Waukee Public Works Director,
and will continue to make necessary repairs and required maintenance.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
20`h day of June, 2016, that it hereby approves the sale of a 2010 Tymco Sweeper to the City of
Adel, IA, in the amount of $100,000.00.

A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PURCHASE OF A STREET SWEEPER FROM
THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA PER THE RECOMMENDATON OF PUBLIC
WORKS DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, Public Works Director Kip Overton met with City Council and discussed the need
for a new street sweeper for the Street Department, and:
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director recommends the purchase of a 2011 Tymco 600 Air
Sweeper Truck from the City of Waukee for a sale price of $100,000.00, and;
WHEREAS, The City of Adel will accept the proposed terms of the sale as follows:
1. Sale price for the sweeper truck is $100,000.00 firm.
2. The sale of the sweeper truck will be as -is with no warranty.
3. The City of Adel, shall receive the vehicle after the City of Waukee receives the
replacement vehicle.
4. After the City of Waukee delivers the sweeper truck to the City of Adel, the City of
Waukee will invoice the City of Adel for the above stated sale price.
5. The City of Waukee will continue to use the unit as necessary, as determined by the
Director of Public Works, and will make necessary repairs and required maintenance.
6. The City of Adel will provide the City of Waukee with a council resolution
confirming the intent to purchase by June 15, 2016.
THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Public Works Director's
recommendation for the Adel City Council to approve the purchase of a 2011 Tymco 600 Air
Sweeper Truck from the City of Waukee for a sale price of $100,000.00, shall be and is hereby
approved.
