I have recently become a resident of Waukee as of December 30, 2015. Having grown up in Dallas County (Perry) I have an
affinity for Central Iowa and would like to perform my civic duty to help the City of Waukee continue its ascension as an
economic and cultural hub in the greater Des Moines metro.
About myself: I grew up in Perry, IA, moved to Iow a City and went to school at the University of Iowa. After a short stint as an
insurance agent with GEICO Insurance in Coralville, IA, I accepted a position with Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines, w here
I held multiple roles in sales and consulting. In 2012, I accepted a position for Nationwide as their Territory Sales Manager for
Eastern Wisconsin, overseeing agency relationships with independent agency partners. I moved to Milwaukee, and later
Waukesha (a Milwaukee suburb) and traveled extensively throughout the state. I moved back to Waukee in late 2015 to accept
a consulting position for Nationwide, and have just recently accepted a position with TrueNorth Companies, a large insurance
and financial strategies firm based out of Cedar Rapids as a Risk Management Specialist. I will be working out of offices in
West D es Moines and Perry.
I believe in civic duty and feel some of my experience in helping small businesses grow as a Sales Manager, as well as
advising small to medium sized businesses on risk management strategies, w ill help me make the best decisions to foster a pro
growth environment for the city, while remaining fiscally responsible to our residents.
I appreciate the council's consideration for the position. I am available for questions at the contact information listed in the
application.
