Your Interest*
I am interested in serving on the Waukee City Council because I have a strong interest in seeing this city grow and succeed. I
have the privilege of not only living in Waukee with my family, but also working in Waukee at my family owned and operated
business. It is a small local insurance agency, The Starkweather Agency, LLC. It is in my business' best interest to see this city
grow and expand, while still maintaining its excellent public services and public safety. My wife and I are expecting our first child
later this year. With this news we are excited about living in Waukee because of the school district's fantastic reputation. The
continued growth of the school district along with city parks and services is important to me. I feel these are very important
aspects which make a city unique and enjoyable for all of its residents.
Along with living and working in Waukee, I am an active member of the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce. I am a 2015
graduate of the Waukee Leadership Institute, where I learned all about the various aspects of the city and its local city
government. I currently serve as a member of the Waukee Library Board of Trustees, and have some knowledge of government
procedures.
Please consider me to fill the vacant seat on the Waukee City Council.
Please describe why you are interested in serving on the Waukee City Council, and what makes you a good candidate.
