THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING PAYMENT TO POLK COUNTY RELATED TO WALNUT CREEK
WATERSHED AUTHORITY – WATERSHED COORDINATOR POSITION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has previously entered into a 28E Agreement regarding the
creation of the Walnut Creek Watershed Management Authority which encompasses all of the
surrounding communities within the Walnut Creek Watershed; AND,
WHEREAS, the purpose of establishing the Authority is to carry out watershed planning and
improvements in the Walnut Creek Watershed; AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to create a full time position of
Watershed Coordinator to coordinate and implement the recommendations contained within the
Walnut Creek Watershed Management Plan; AND,
WHEREAS, Polk County has agreed to fund the watershed coordinator position subject to the
receipt of payment by the member jurisdictions for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council that the City of
Waukee hereby approves the payment to Polk County in the amount of $3,200.00 for Waukee’s
share of the watershed coordinator position subject to receipt of payment from the remaining
jurisdictions. .
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 5th day of July 2016.
