AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving mayor’s
appointment of the City of Waukee alternate members to the Dallas
County Emergency Management Commission and E-911 Commission
for the remainder of 2016
FORMAT: Mayor’s Appointment and Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Former Council Member Shane Blanchard was
appointed as the alternate to the Dallas County Emergency Management
Commission and E-911 Commission for 2016. It is necessary to appoint
an alternate for the remainder of 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Mayor will announce his appointment during the
Council meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the appointment.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING THE MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE
ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE DALLAS COUNTY EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT COMMISSION AND E-911 COMMISSION FOR THE
REMAINDER OF 2016
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is a member of both the Dallas County Emergency
Management Commission and Dallas County E-911 Commission; AND,
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2016, Mayor Peard appointed Council Member Shane Blanchard
as alternate member to both commissions; AND,
WHEREAS, Blanchard’s resignation from the Waukee City Council effective June 1, 2016,
makes it necessary to appoint an alternate member to fill the remainder of his commission
terms for 2016; AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor William F. Peard appoints Council Member ______________ as
alternate member to both the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission and Dallas
County E-911 Commission for the remainder of 2016.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 18th day of July, 2016, that it hereby approves the mayor’s appointment of the City of
Waukee alternate members to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission and
E-911 Commission for the remainder of 2016.
