AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a public hearing to dispose of real property
by sale to Ashworth Properties Inc.
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
In 2013, the City acquired land from Ashworth Properties Inc. along the east side of Grand Prairie
Parkway for the development of two regional retention ponds associated with the Kettlestone
Development Corridor.
Ashworth Properties also known as Knapp Properties is currently working on an office proposal
for the property just south of the retention pond property. They have discovered the need for a
small sliver of the previously dedicated land to the City is necessary for the layout and
configuration of the office building site and have approached the City about swapping for the
approximately 0.35 acre site needed for the same amount of ground on the north side of the
retention pond property.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of holding the public
hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: Hold the public hearing.
