HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-08-01-H05 Clayton Property Sale PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: August 1, 2016 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a public hearing to sell real property known as Remaining Clayton Property. FORMAT: Public Hearing SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Per City Council direction, city staff proceeded forward with the advertisement and sale of the approximately 37 acres of property owned by the City of Waukee that is located west of 6th Street, south of Northview Drive and north of Waukee Public Works/Waukee School District Transportation Facility. The intended use of the property is for residential development. Three bids for the property were received on July 27, 2016 as follows: Knapp Properties: $1,299,340.50 Landmark Companies: $1,575,510.00 Jerry’s Homes: $1,600,000.00 It is intended that the proceeds from the sale of the property will go towards the purchase of the Broderick Property for the proposed recreation complex. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of holding the public hearing. RECOMMENDATION: Hold the public hearing. ATTACHMENTS: I.
