AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Agreement for
Professional Consulting Services with Civil Engineering Consultants,
Inc. [SE Esker Ridge Drive, Grand Prairie Parkway to SE Glacier Trail]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: SE Esker Ridge Drive will serve as the primary
access for Knapp Properties Office project in Kettlestone and CEC is
serving as the site engineer for the office project so staff decided to use
CEC to design SE Esker Ridge Drive since both the office project and
the road will require extensive coordination and communication.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $52,000.00. The
contract has been structured to be charged on an hourly basis with a not
to exceed price of $52,000.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff has reviewed the contract with CEC and would
recommend approval of the contract to complete the design of SE Esker
Ridge Drive from Grand Prairie Parkway to the intersection of SE
Glacier Trail.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH
CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS, INC. [SE ESKER RIDGE DRIVE, GRAND
PRAIRIE PARKWAY TO SE GLACIER TRAIL]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, SE Esker Ridge Drive will serve as the primary access for the Knapp Properties Office
Project in the Kettlestone Corridor; AND,
WHEREAS, as Civil Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) will serve as site engineer for the office
project, City staff recommends entering into an agreement with CEC to design SE Esker Ridge Drive
in order to facilitate coordination and communication for both projects; AND,
WHEREAS, the engineering services agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Waukee City
Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Civil Engineering Consultants, Inc. [SE Esker
Ridge Drive, Grand Prairie Parkway to SE Glacier Trail], attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby
approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 1st day of August, 2016.
