AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution ratifying, confirming, and
approving the date for the deadline for submission of bids and posting of
notice to bidders for the Traffic Monitoring System Installation Project
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The resolution approved by the City Council on
07/18/2016 contained a scrivener’s error listing August 9, 2016 as the
date for bid letting instead of the correct date of August 10, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Bond counsel has provided a resolution ratifying the
bid letting date.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION RATIFYING, CONFIRMING, AND APPROVING THE DATE
FOR THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF BIDS AND POSTING OF
NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR THE TRAFFIC MONITORING SYSTEM
INSTALLATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, on July 18, 2016 the Council adopted a Resolution ordering construction of
the Traffic Monitoring System Installation Improvements Project.
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution, the City Clerk was directed to post notice to
bidders not less than thirteen days nor more than forty-five days prior to August 9, 2016, the date
fixed for receiving bids; and
WHEREAS, the Notice to Bidders for the Traffic Monitoring System Installation
Improvements Project was posted on July 20, 2016 indicating the date for the deadline for
submission of bids would be before 2:00 p.m. on August 10, 2016.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JOHNSTON, IOWA:
Section 1. That the August 10, 2016 deadline for submission of bids is hereby ratified,
confirmed, and approved.
Section 2. That the form of the Notice to Bidders for the Traffic Monitoring System
Installation Improvements Project, and posting thereof is hereby ratified, confirmed, and
approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 15th day of August, 2016.
