CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: August 15, 2016
AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving MEC Agreement A for
Southfork Streetlights [Southbranch Dr south to University Ave (Phase 1)]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Capital Improvement Plan includes $100,000 per year
for 5 years to replace the street lights in Southfork. The Southfork street
lights were constructed in approximately 1986 with direct bury cable. That
cable has gone past its useful life. The last several years, staff has had to
replace long runs of cable. These 5 projects will eliminate that major expense
and with MidAmerican Energy replacing the lights they become their
maintenance and responsibility.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $88,915.40 -- Fiscal Year
2016 CIP
