MEETING DATE: August 15, 2016
AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting September 6, 2016, as the
date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 301, Zoning
Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning and changing certain
property therein from A-1 (Agricultural District) to R-2 (One and Two
Family Residential District) [Remaining Clayton Property]
FORMAT: Consent
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At the August 1st Meeting, the City Council approved
the sale of the remaining Clayton Property located north of Public Works
to Jerry’s Homes. The City has previously prepared a concept plan for
the development of the property as single family residential lots.
Jerry’s Homes would like to move forward with that plan generally as
depicted and are requesting that the City of Waukee begin the rezoning
process for the property from A-1 Agricultural District to R-2 One and
Two Family Residential District.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of setting the public
hearing date for September 6, 2016 to discuss this matter further.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
