AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Firm Throughput Service
Agreement with Northern Natural Gas
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Agreement is for additional firm capacity in Northern
Natural Gas’s pipeline. The City currently has 6000 decatherms contracted
with NNG and our peak day in the 2015-16 winter was 6000. The City has
added over 450 meters and one school to our load since last winter resulting in
the need for additional capacity.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
$11,364.75 per month for the 5 winter months of November through March.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING CONTRACT #131011 – FIRM THROUGHPUT SERVICE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN NORTHERN NATURAL GAS COMPANY AND THE CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa, is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, on April 3, 2006, the City and Northern Natural Gas Company entered into a
Precedent Agreement regarding the construction of a TBS at a location near Granger, and for a
transportation capacity agreement to be executed at a later date (Resolution #06-55); AND,
WHEREAS, the proposed Contract #131011 is an agreement for additional firm capacity in
Northern Natural Gas’s pipeline;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council on this, the 19th
day of September, 2016, that the Firm Throughput Service Agreement between Northern Natural
Gas Company and the City of Waukee is hereby approved.
