STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has reviewed the 2016 Asphalt
Overlay Project and find it in general conformance with the standard
specification for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 16-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE 2016 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROJECT
WHEREAS, on the I" day of August, 2016, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Paco Construction, LLC, of Runnells, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the 2016 Asphalt Overlay
Project; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on October 13,
2016:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and
adopted, and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fidly
completed in accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final
construction cost thereof is hereby determined to be $185,272.55, as shown in the report of the
Engineer.

2016 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROJECT
WAUKEE, IOWA
We hereby certify that we have made an on -site review of the completed
construction of the 2016 Asphalt Overlay Project as performed by Paco
Construction, LLC.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion the work performed is in
substantial accordance with the plans and specifications, and that the final
amount of the Contract is One Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Two Hundred
Seventy-two and 55/100 Dollars ($185,272.55).
