AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Proposal and Agreement
with Beelner Service, Inc. [Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course irrigation
system installation]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City Council passed the purchase of equipment for the
irrigation system at the golf course on October 10th. This contract is for the
installation of the Rainbird equipment. Staff put out an RFQ for the work to
be completed. Staff received 3 proposals back with Beelner Service, Inc. the
lowest. Beelner Service, Inc. will install 215 new ICM’s on existing sprinkler
and electrical valves, 27,500 feet of new maxi wire will be plowed to all
locations as shown on the irrigation plan, Install 31 ICSD surge arrestors and
grounding per Rainbird Specifications, install new IC interface and central
grounding grid. The work will be completed by April 1, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $25,000.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The City Attorney has reviewed the contract and finds it to
be satisfactory. Staff would recommend approval of the contract.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 16-
APPROVING PROPOSAL AND AGREEMENT WITH BEELNER SERVICE,
INC. [SUGAR CREEK MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, on October 10, 2016, the Waukee City Council approved the purchase of
Rainbird irrigation equipment from TurfWorks of Johnston, IA, in the amount of
$52,182.53 (Resolution #16-439); AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department solicited quotes for the
installation of the irrigation equipment and recommends approving an agreement with
Beelner Service, Inc., in the amount of $25,000.00 for said installation; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has drafted the installation agreement and Beelner
Service, Inc., finds it satisfactory.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 7th day of November, 2016, that it hereby approves the Proposal and
Agreement with Beelner Service, Inc. [Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course irrigation
system installation].
