AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Elder Corporation
for the NW Douglas Parkway – NW 10th Street to NW 2nd Street Project
increasing the contract amount by $77,829.90.
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Change Order No. 1 is for additional subgrade prep,
storm sewer, subdrain, pavement, sidewalk, and driveway to coordinate with adjacent
development.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this
Change Order increases the contract price in the amount of $77,829.90. The City will receive a
partial reimbursement of $67,307.90 from the adjacent developer, Temple Holdings/Courtyards at
Parkside LLC, at the time of final plat.

We have reviewed the submitted quotes from Elder Corporation and they appear to be in order
with current industry pricing. If City Staff concurs with this pricing, we recommend the City of

Waukee Increase the contract price in the amount of $77,829.90 to complete the additional work

THE CONTRACT IS CHANGED AS FOLLOWS: Due to adjacent development and coordination between projects, intersection paving and pedestrian ramps will be added along NW
Douglas at 322+24. This includes a new intake, storm sewer and subdrain. Also included is removal of 172' of 30" RCP storm sewer and modification to existing structures with an
addition of a 15" RCP stub across Douglas. This is all categorized under Division 2.
