THE SETTING OF PLACES FOR PUBLIC POSTING OF AGENDAS, OR
OTHER PUBLIC NOTICES, REQUIRED OR PERMITTED TO BE POSTED BY
LAW; AND PROVISIONS FOR A PENALTY FOR UNLAWFUL REMOVAL OF
SUCH NOTICES.
§106.1 Purpose. All meetings of the Council, and any board or commission
formally created by the Council, shall post reasonable notice of meetings as defined by State
law of the time, date, and place of each meeting and its tentative agenda shall be given. All
meetings shall be held in open session unless closed sessions are held as expressly permitted
by State law.
§106.2 Listing of Places of Posting and Length of Notice. Public notice of
agendas and other matters permitted to be posted shall be displayed at Waukee City Hall in
a prominent location easily accessible to the public.
Agendas are to be posted at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting and may be
removed after the meeting for which the agenda is posted. Other notices must remain
posted for the length of time required by the notice or by State law.
§106.3 Unlawful Removal of Notice. Removal of a public notice by persons
other than the City Clerk or his/her designee prior to the end of the meeting which is being
noticed, or for other notices before the date required by State law, shall be a misdemeanor.
