HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-06-30-2051 ESTABLISHING THE WAUKEE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA, AND AUTHORIZING THE INCORPORATION OF SAID VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FIRE PREVENTION AND CONTROL AND FIRE FIGHTING WITHIN THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA, AND SUCH RURAL AREAS AS MAY BE FURNISHED FIRE PROTECTION BY THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA. §205.1 Waukee Volunteer Fire Department. There is hereby created a volunteer fire department of the City of Waukee, Iowa, to be known as the Waukee Volunteer Fire Department. §205.2 Incorporation Authorized. The Waukee Volunteer Fire Department is hereby authorized to organize as a voluntary association or as a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Iowa. §205.3 Waukee Volunteer Fire Department to furnish proposed Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws to City Council. The Waukee Volunteer Fire Department shall furnish copies of any proposed articles of incorporation or bylaws for its organization and operation to the Council of the City of Waukee. §205.4 Articles and Bylaws Subject to Approval by the Council. The articles of incorporation and the bylaws of the nonprofit corporation, if the volunteer fire department of the City of Waukee, Iowa, should elect to become incorporated, shall be subject to the ratification and approval of the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa. §205.5 Fire Chief. The Fire Chief is elected by the volunteer fire department of the City of Waukee, with the approval of the Council. §205.6 Charges for Ambulance Service. The council of the City of Waukee Shall determine and set fees for ambulance service by the Waukee Volunteer Fire Department, which, until changed by the Council, shall be the following: BLS/ALS Transports - $600.00 per patient transported ALS “2” Transports - $800.00 per patient transported Mileage - $12.00 per loaded mile per patient transported Treat and Release - $150.00 per call Ordinance 2340 – March 5, 2001 Ordinance 2393 – November 18, 2002 Ordinance 2462 – March 1, 2004 Ordinance 2696 – June 20, 2011
