§301.5.Rules for Interpretation of District Boundaries: In cases where the
exact location of a district boundary is not clear as shown on the Official Zoning Map, the
following rules shall be used in determining the location of said district boundary:
A. Boundaries indicated as approximately following the centerlines of streets,
highways, or alleys shall be construed to follow such centerlines.
B. Boundaries indicated as approximately following platted lines shall be construed
as following such lot lines.
C. Boundaries indicated as approximately following corporate limits shall be
construed as following corporate limits.
D. Boundaries indicated as approximately following section lines, quarter section
lines, or quarter-quarter section lines shall be construed as following such lines.
E. Boundaries indicated as following railroad lines shall be construed to be midway
between the main tracks.
F. Boundaries indicated as following shore lines shall be construed to follow such
shore lines, and in the event of change in the shore line shall be construed as
moving with the actual shore line; boundaries indicated as approximately
following the centerlines of streams, rivers, canals, lakes, or other bodies of water
shall be construed to follow such centerlines.
G. Boundaries indicated as parallel to or extensions of features indicated in
subsections A through F above shall be so construed. Distances not specifically
indicated on the Official Zoning Map shall be determined by the scale of the map.
H. Where physical or cultural features existing on the ground are at variance with
those shown on the Official Zoning Map, or in other circumstances not covered by
subsections A through F above, the Board of Adjustment shall interpret the
district boundaries.
