RESOLUTION 2021-323
APPROVING CITY OF WAUKEE FY2021-2022 STRATEGIC PLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, over the course of several work session meetings, the Waukee City Council
discussed strategic planning priorities and goals for Fiscal Year 2021-2022, attached hereto as
Exhibit A.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
191 day of July, 2021, that it hereby approves the City of Waukee FY2021-2022 Strategic Plan.

Top Priorities
1. Partner with adjacent communities to enhance the greenbelt into a three -
community recreational corridor
2. Collaborate with metro cities to meet Waukee's long-term water supply
needs
3. Acquire land and approve a development agreement for an affordable
housing project
4. Prepare a master plan for the acquisition and development of greenspace
5. Define and implement the leadership/management succession planning
6. Complete a comprehensive review of utilities with recommendations on
future actions
7. Initiate the process to design the public safety building
8. Update and implement the economic development action plan
High Priorities
9. Implement the plan for the annexation of properties in Hunter Hollow
10. Create an environmental sustainability plan for the community
11. Identify opportunities for the City to implement green initiatives in City
operations
12. Prepare a strategy to increase the level of sports tourism in Waukee

the City's economic development partners
14. Actively engage in the development of the KeeTown Loop entertainment
district
15. Conduct an assessment of options for increasing the number of water
