SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:The Street Resurfacing Project, Ashworth Drive and
SE Waco Place consists of an HMA overlay on Ashworth Drive, from 2nd Street to 4th Street, and
HMA paving on SE Waco Place, from SE Ashworth Road to Wilson Street. Project items include
subgrade preparation and treatment, curb and gutter replacement, ADA curb ramp construction,
patching, granular shouldering/surfacing, traffic control, and seeding, fertilizing, and mulching.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
WAUKEE STREET RESURFACING: ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM 2ND TO 4TH
STREET/WACO PLACE FROM ASHWORTH ROAD TO WILSON STREET
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on August 16, 2021, at the Council Chamber in
City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any interested
person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of
the WAUKEE STREET RESURFACING: ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM 2ND TO 4TH
STREET/WACO PLACE FROM ASHWORTH ROAD TO WILSON STREET,
WAUKEE, IOWA, generally described as follows:
Construction of an HMA overlay on Ashworth Drive, from 2nd Street to 4th Street, and
HMA paving on Waco Place, from Ashworth Road to Wilson Street. Project items include
subgrade preparation and treatment, curb and gutter replacement, ADA curb ramp
construction, patching, granular shouldering/surfacing, traffic control, and seeding,
fertilizing, and mulching. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate
quantity of materials to be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate

In-person meetings are subject to change under certain circumstances, including but not limited
