FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: RECOMMENDATION: Introduce the ordinance, approve the first reading in title only, waive the second and third readings and place the ordinance on final passage. XXXX AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 64, TURNING REGULATIONS, CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA, BY AMENDING SECTION 64.01, TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS AS SPECIFIED BELOW BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee: Section 1: Waukee Municipal Code Chapter 64, Turning Regulations, Section 64.01, Turning at Intersections, subsection 3. should be amended as follows: §64.01 Turning at Intersections: 3. Approach for a left turn from a two-way street into a one-way street shall be made in that portion of the right half of the roadway nearest the centerline thereof and by passing to the right of such centerline where it enters the intersection. A left turn from a one-way street into a two-way street shall be made by passing to the right of the centerline of the street being entered upon leaving the intersection. The Public Works Department may cause markers, buttons, or signs to be placed within or adjacent to intersections and thereby required and direct, as traffic conditions require, that a different course from that specified above be traveled by vehicles turning at intersections, and when markers, buttons or signs are so placed, no driver of a vehicle shall turn a vehicle at an intersection other than as directed and required by such markers, buttons or signs. Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
