closing of certain public streets on Sunday, October 10, 2021, for the
purpose of a special event [Kinship for a Cure 5K Fun Run/Walk]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Kinship Brewing Company plans to host a 5K fun
run/walk on October 10 and requests the temporary closure of certain
streets in James Pointe to accommodate participants.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: All relevant departments approve of the application.

RESOLUTION 2021-
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS ON
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2021, FOR THE PURPOSE OF A SPECIAL EVENT
[KINSHIP FOR A CURE 5K FUN RUN/WALK]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, Kinship Brewing Company will host a 5K fun run/walk on Sunday, October 10, 2021,
and requests the temporary closing of certain public streets beginning 8:00 a.m. and ending 11:00 a.m.
on the date of the event; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 20th
day of September, 2021, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of NW 17th Street from W.
Hickman Road north to its terminus, NW Gettysburg Lane from NW 17th Street east to NW Sunrise
Drive, and NW Sunrise Drive from NW Georgetown Drive south to its terminus, beginning 8:00 a.m.
and ending 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
