CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: September 20, 2021
AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Easements associated
with NW Douglas Parkway and NW Georgetown Drive Extension west of
NW 10th Street.
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: A number of easements associated with the extensions of
NW Douglas Parkway and NW Georgetown Drive that are currently under
construction have been provided by adjoining property owners. The road
projects are streets being constructed by the Waukee Community School
District in conjunction with the new 8/9 school building located north of NW
Douglas Parkway. The easements include storm sewer easements, public
utility easement, water main easement, and an overland flowage easement.

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 2021
APPROVING EASEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY AND
NW GEORGETOWN DRIVE EXTENSION WEST OF NW 10TH STREET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that certain easements from the William Fox Farm
Company, Richard L. Petersen Revocable Trust, and Claire B. Petersen Revocable Trust are
necessary for the purpose of construction of the extensions of NW Douglas Parkway and NW
Georgetown Drive west of NW 10th Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa,
that the Public Storm Sewer Easement (1) from the Richard L. Petersen Revocable Trust and
Claire B. Petersen Revocable Trust for NW Douglas Parkway extension is hereby approved.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa,
that the Public Utility Easement (1), Public Overland Flowage Easement (2), Public Storm Sewer
Easement (3), and Public Water Main Easement (4) from the William Fox Farm Company for
the NW Douglas Parkway and NW Georgetown Drive extensions is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 20th day of
September, 2021.
