AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion setting November 1, 2021, as the date
of public hearing on consideration of an annexation moratorium agreement
between the City of Waukee, Iowa and the City of Van Meter, Iowa.
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Cities of Waukee and Van Meter currently have an
annexation moratorium agreement in place which is set to expire in 2022.
Staff has worked with the City of Van Meter on a revised agreement which
generally follows the parameters of the current agreement with a few
modifications. The proposed agreement would extend the annexation
moratorium term for an additional ten years.
Staff is recommending a public hearing be set for November 1, 2021 to
discuss the proposed moratorium agreement.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval of setting the public hearing date.
RECOMMENDATION: Set the public hearing date.
