MEETING DATE: September 20, 2021
AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion setting November 1, 2021, as the date
of public hearing on consideration of an annexation moratorium agreement
between the City of Waukee, Iowa and the City of West Des Moines, Iowa.
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines do not
currently have an annexation moratorium agreement in place. Staff has
worked with the City of West Des Moines on a new agreement which
generally follows R-22 Ute Avenue from Interstate 80 to Booneville Road.
The proposed agreement also includes consideration that would limit either
City from annexing the Napa Valley area during the life time of the
agreement.
Staff is recommending a public hearing be set for November 1, 2021 to
discuss the proposed moratorium agreement.

RECOMMENDATION: Set the public hearing date.
