HomeMy WebLinkAboutGolf- Clubhouse Lead Clubhouse Lead Page 1 Council Approved 1-18-2021 Revised 10-2021, 12-2022 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Clubhouse Lead Reports to: Recreation Supervisor Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation/Golf Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Hourly/Exempt-Seasonal Rec. JOB PURPOSE: The Clubhouse Lead assists the Recreation Supervisor with operations of the Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course clubhouse and oversees Clubhouse Assistants and Golf Course Attendants while on duty to ensure a high level of customer service and efficient operation of the clubhouse. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. Provides excellent customer service to patrons via telephone and in person: schedules tee times, checks in golfers, rents golf carts, sells tokens, accepts payment, sells merchandise, food and beverages. 2. Assists in organizing and implementing leagues, outings, tournaments, and special events including performing the duties of a starter by announcing group order on PA system. 3. Trains, leads and assists Clubhouse Assistants and Golf Course Attendants with daily clubhouse operations. 4. Responsible for daily money operations 5. Interacts with staff members and patrons, answering questions, enforcing all facility policies, solving problems, overseeing services and cleanliness to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. 6. Monitors the weather and maintains close contact with the Recreation Supervisor, Golf Course Superintendent, and clubhouse staff in the event of inclement weather or emergency situations and assists in clearing the course of golfers when directed. Review staffing levels and cut back staff as needed due to weather or slow tee sheets. 7. Maintains direct communication with Recreation Supervisor, Golf Course Superintendent, and outside services personnel to ensure the effective operation of golf course activities. 8. Maintains inventory and orders merchandise, food, and supplies as directed by the Recreation Supervisor. 9. Participates in on-going facility inspections to assure cleanliness, maintenance, safety and other standards are met and monitor employees to ensure conformance with safety procedures. 10. Able to perform all duties of the Clubhouse Assistant and Golf Course Attendant in their absence. 11. Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned. Clubhouse Lead Page 2 Council Approved 1-18-2021 Revised 10-2021, 12-2022 QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or GED required. 2. Minimum age 18. 3. Familiarity with the rules of golf and golf course etiquette. 4. Must possess valid CPR, First Aid, and AED Certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. 5. A minimum of one (1) season of successful experience in a similar position preferred. 6. Experience leading and developing staff preferred. 7. Confident in the use of computers and tablets and able to be trained in software required to complete the functions of the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Be responsive to visual and verbal alarms and other indications of distress. 2. Required to lift to shoulder height and carry up to 50 pounds. 3. Able to drive, climb in and out of golf carts, and other modes of transportation. 4. Able to maneuver along walkways, trails and undeveloped areas. 5. Able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community. WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Standard work hours will be up to 40 plus hours per week to meet the needs of the clubhouse and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. 2. Climate controlled clubhouse with hazards typical to that environment. 3. Occasional outdoor work may be required where heat, cold, precipitation, and the results of weather and nature may be encountered. 4. During summer months outside temperatures can be over 100 degrees for entire scheduled work day. I have read and understand the information contained in the Job Description.
