FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The lights will be installed on steel poles and served by underground conductors and billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead rate. MidAmerican Streetlight Proposal PREPARED BY: Beth Richardson REVIEWED BY: Sara Kappos SKK PUBLIC NOTICE INFORMATION – NAME OF PUBLICATION: DATE OF PUBLICATION: J1E4 THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 2021- APPROVING INSTALLATION OF STREETLIGHT PROPOSAL FROM MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY [NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY BETWEEN NW 10TH STREET AND NW 2ND STREET PROJECT, WMIS 2902107] IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy proposes to install one (1) 250 Watt, fifteen (15) 150 Watt 150 Watt LED equivalent lights on 34’ galvanized steel poles with 8’ masts and eight (8) 150 Watt LED equivalent lights on 34.5’ galvanized steel poles with 8’ twin mast as part of the NW Douglas Parkway Expansion project; AND, WHEREAS, the street lights will be installed on steel poles and will be served by underground conductors but will be billed to the City at the wood pole, overhead rate at a total cost of $249,262.74; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the Installation of Streetlight Proposal from MidAmerican Energy for the NW Douglas Parkway Expansion Project, WMIS 2902107] is hereby approved. WMIS: 2902107 This proposal includes the installation of streetlights on: NW Douglas Parkway between NW 10th St and NW 2nd St We Propose To: The lights installed on steel poles and served by underground conductors will be billed to the city at the wood pole, overhead rate. The estimated cost for this installation is $249,262.74. Since the estimated cost of construction is over $100,000, Applicant is required by tariff to pay actual costs upon completion of the work, which could result in an additional charge or a refund to the Applicant. If MidAmerican Energy Company is required to start construction during adverse weather conditions, this work may be subject to additional costs which are not included in this proposal. MidAmerican Energy Company’s street light proposal is based on the approved street light analysis provided by the City. MidAmerican Energy Company will install the lights based on the staked locations provided in the field by the City.
