SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:This project includes all materials, equipment,
transportation and labor necessary to lengthen PCC left turn lanes, reconstruct trail and sidewalk
ramps, and construct a traffic signal at the intersection. Project items include subgrade
preparation and treatment, PCC turn lane extension and sidewalk/trail ramp paving, pavement
markings, traffic signalization and traffic control. .

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF
CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE HICKMAN ROAD (US 6) &
BERKSHIRE PKWY/SE WACO PL INTERSECTION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
A public hearing will be held by the Waukee City Council on the proposed contract documents
(plans, specifications and form of contract) and estimated cost for the Hickman Road (US 6) &
Berkshire Pkwy/SE Waco Pl Intersection Project at its meeting at 5:30 p.m. on November 15,
2021, Waukee City Hall, 230 W. Hickman Rd., Waukee, Iowa.
This project includes all materials, equipment, transportation and labor necessary to lengthen
PCC left turn lanes, reconstruct trail and sidewalk ramps, and construct a traffic signal at the
intersection. Project items include subgrade preparation and treatment, PCC turn lane
extension and sidewalk/trail ramp paving, pavement markings, traffic signalization and traffic
control. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate quantity of materials to
be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications.
At said hearing, the City Council will consider the plans, specifications, proposed form of
contract, and estimated total cost for the project, the same now being on file in the office of
the City Clerk, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of the
proposed improvements, and at said time and place the said Council will also receive and
consider any objections to said plans, specifications, estimate of cost and form of contract
made by any interested party.
Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b)
and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted with two different options
for public participation: 1) Members of the public wishing to attend in person may do so in the
Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2) Members of the public wishing to participate
