FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The City Administrator, Parks & Recreation Director and Human Resources Director recommend the approval of the job descriptions and inclusion on the seasonal compensation pay plan. Lyon Ben Sinclair Site Supervisor Page 1 Council Approved12-20-2021 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Site Supervisor Reports to: Recreation Supervisor Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of the Recreation Supervisor, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the cleanliness and safety of guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. While on duty, responsible for day-to-day operations, guest satisfaction and safety at assigned location. 2. Conducts regular inspections of restrooms, concession stands and grounds for cleanliness. Assists with general cleaning and restocking of facilities as needed. 3. Handles emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepares and files accident reports. 4. Takes orders for food and beverages and prepares food items according to the instructions in the absence of Concession Attendants. 5. Completes cash transactions accurately, totaling purchases, tendering change, counting down cash drawers, and preparing daily deposits in the absence of Concession Attendants. 6. Takes inventory of all supplies, concession stands, restrooms, and prepares order forms for the Recreation Supervisor. 7. Follows all park opening and closing procedures. 8. Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. 2. Able to reach, climb, bend, kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. 3. Able to spend the majority of work-related time outdoors. WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Position requires outdoor work where heat, cold, precipitation, and the results of weather and nature may be encountered. 2. Field Crew Lead Page 1 Council Approved 12-20-2021 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Field Crew Lead Reports to: Triumph Park Superintendent Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation/Triumph Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of the Triumph Park Superintendent, provides maintenance services, including mowing, turf and field maintenance, equipment maintenance, fence repair, trash and litter removal and general customer service at Triumph Park and other assigned facilities. Average duration of seasonal employment is eight to nine months. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. Performs maintenance and repairs to assigned facility. 2. Assists with oversight of Field Crew members. 3. Completes mowing and trimming of assigned grounds according to standards. 4. Provides necessary field preparation for assigned facility including striping and dragging of ball fields. 5. Performs maintenance of turf and infield areas as needed for assigned facility. 6. Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course Intern Page 1 Council Approval 12-20-2021 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course Intern Reports to: Recreation Supervisor Department: Parks & Recreation Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: The Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course Intern will assist the Recreation Supervisor with planning, coordinating, and administering golf leagues, tournaments, outings, and special events, and will assist with day-to-day administrative duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. Learns and explores all aspects of the Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course including: league/event design, planning, analysis and evaluation; needs assessment; personnel management; operations; fiscal management; promotions, marketing and communications; regulatory standards; resource identification; diversity recognition and risk management. 2. Completes and implements internship/senior project required for completion of bachelor’s degree. 3. Assists with planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and leading Sugar Creek events and leagues. 4. Supervises participants in areas such as adult and youth golf leagues, various tournaments, and golf events. 5. Completes Sugar Creek facility preparation and maintenance as needed. 6. Position requires outdoor work where heat, cold, precipitation, and the results of weather and nature may be encountered. 2. Climate controlled office with hazards typical to that environment. 3. Position requires travel within and outside of the City which imposes common travel hazards. 4. Standard work hours will be approximately 40 plus hours per week and will include evenings and weekends. 5. To successfully fulfill the essential functions of this position, employee must maintain standard work hours at Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course. 6.
