HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-12-20-I01E FY2022 Limited PT-Seasonal-Intern Comp PlanAGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: December 20, 2021 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Limited Part Time/ Seasonal/Intern Compensation Plan FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City seeks to attract talented employees for the many seasonal and internship opportunities available every year. Therefore, a recent wage study was conducted of nearby cities and a new compensation plan has been prepared to reflect recommended wage levels for these positions in an effort to remain attractive and competitive. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Fiscal impact will be minimal as seasonal positions and internships are included within department budgets. COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval of the Limited Part Time/Seasonal/Intern Compensation Plan. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution. I1E THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 2021- APPROVAL OF THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY OF WAUKEE LIMITED PART TIME/SEASONAL/INTERN EMPLOYEES IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Director and Human Resources Director have reviewed and recommend approval of the revised Limited Part Time/Seasonal/Intern pay plan to include newly created position to support Triumph Park and Sugar Creek Golf Course. The positions include Filed Crew Lead, Field Crew, Concession Attendant Lead, Concession Attendant and Golf Course Maintenance Laborer; AND, WHEREAS, the plan reflects recommended wage levels for all positions to remain attractive and competitive; AND, WHEREAS, the proposed compensation plans shall be effective April 1, 2021 and shall remain in effect until such time as revised compensation plans are presented. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 20th day of December 2021, that the City of Waukee Limited Part Time/Seasonal/Intern compensation plan, attached hereto, are hereby approved. ____________________________ Courtney Clarke, Mayor Attest: ___________________________________ Rebecca D.
